St. Helena’s will host two Newcomers’ Dinners on Sundays, March 8 and 15, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. All newcomers to St. Helena’s are welcome. For two weeks in March, our Education for Ministry (EfM) group will pause our regular studies for an “interlude,” a time when everyone reads and discusses the same book. This year, we’ll be reading God’s Joyful Surprise by Sue Monk Kidd. If you’ve ever wondered what EfM is like, this is a great opportunity to experience it. A service of Holy Eucharist is offered at Morningside Ministries at Menger Springs every third Wednesday of the month, at 2:30 p.m., led by one of St. Helena’s clergy for the residents of Menger Springs in the chapel located on premises.

Beginning on Wednesday, February 25 through Wednesday, March 25, you are invited to join us weekly for our Lenten Dinner Series, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with dinner and a speaker in the Great Room. A Service of Compline will follow at 7:00 in the Historic Sanctuary. This year’s theme is  “formation,” and speakers will share how formation has played a role in their own spiritual journeys.  Care for children ages 0-5 will be provided. The speakers include:

Let the whole family jump in the fun on Thursday evenings for Family Bible Study, as we jump into the Book of James together.  Each week we will gather from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. As a formation offering during the Season of Lent, this Bible study will start on Thursday, February 26 and go through Thursday, March 26. Our nursery will be open for children 0- 5 yrs. Parents and K-5th graders will meet in the Parish Hall, and we will begin each week with a moment of connection and fun competition together before breaking into groups, then coming back together. The Seniors Ministry Art Haus group will gather on Monday, March 23, with guest artist Mary Helmers. Learn how to create fun and  easy zentangles. No art experience necessary. We will be making adult and children winter hats and scarves for Maty's Box, the St. Helena's School Gala, our Messiah church family in South Dakota; as well as prayer shawls for the church's outreach. Attention all youth of St. Helena’s! Grab your swim trunks, floppy hats, picnic blankets, vacation books, fishing shirts, and tackle boxes! This year for our Spring Retreat, we will head to Rockport for a weekend of oceanside fellowship and study! March 27 - 29. All youth 9th-12th grade are invited to join us! We are asking that each participant pay $25 in order to help cover the cost of this fantastic adventure; scholarships are available upon request.
